Austin isn't a generic HVAC market
Most HVAC marketing is written for a mild climate and a stable population. Central Texas is neither, and the difference decides where your leads come from.
01 · summerEmergency intent, compressed
Weeks above 100°F mean failures cluster. Searches for "ac repair near me" spike within hours of a heat advisory and convert in minutes — from the map pack, on mobile, to whoever answers. Organic position barely matters here; profile position and pickup rate do.
02 · cedar feverThe season nobody markets for
Ashe juniper pollen from December to February sends Austin households looking for filtration, air purification, and duct work. It is a genuine second demand wave, and almost no HVAC contractor here has content ranking for it.
03 · sprawlThe suburbs are the winnable part
Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Leander and Hutto are growing fast and are far less contested than Austin proper. For most contractors these are the fastest positions to take.
04 · housing mixTwo different jobs, two different pages
Central Austin's older bungalows mean retrofits, duct problems, and undersized systems. The suburban new-build belt means installs and warranty work. Different searches, different buyers — one page cannot serve both well.
05 · profile setupService-area, not storefront
If customers do not visit you, Google requires a service-area profile with the address hidden. This is the most common structural error we find in HVAC listings — and it is a suspension risk, usually triggered when a competitor reports it.
06 · reviewsYear-round, not just July
HVAC review patterns are naturally spiky — a rush in summer, silence by October. That shape is what review filters notice, and a stale profile hurts exactly when planned-replacement research happens.
